The year is 2005 of the Seventh age, of Middle Earth, Greetings to you, I
have searched and scoured the lands of middle earth, in search of the
Lord of the Rings Evenstar Pendant. As time passed, I became
lost and darkness fell over me, a feeling that I would not find the true
one I have searched for. But wait, what is this? In the land of Christies, there behold! The
Evenstar Pendant. Were my eyes deceiving me, I thought.
This can be what I have searched for. I quickly took up my charge to take
hold of this elusive, but most intricate and beautiful piece. Now just days
later my quest is complete, when it came upon me. I opened the package,
there my breath was taken away at the brilliance of it. Such fine artistic
value in design, delicate, but strong. That it should be for this is Mithril.
Now I can rest and know that soon it will rest on my daughters neck for her
birthday in days to come. I have seen some they call Evenstar, but this is
truely the real and only one. I am beholding to you for your fine craftwork and
service. Know this, I shall return soon again to search for yet another
piece, that of Aragorn. For now I must take my leave of you to prepare
this for my daughter. Warmest regards to you all, Don
(USA)
Hi, my ring came today,and
I must say that it has been a pleasure to deal with a company like yours,
that has (unlike many) kept me informed of every detail of the sale. I
am very pleased that the product is of very good quality as you
would expect from a good jeweller. Many times you see things in
magazines or on the internet and wonder if the item when it arrives will
live up to the ad, I was very nervous of ending up with a poor
quality cheap ring, this was not what I received. The ring is of
excellent quality right down to the packaging, the whole process has
been a pleasure and I look forward to dealing with you again.
With many thanks Barrie Smith (UK). |

As Jewelry Designer for The
Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Jasmine Watson was responsible for designing,
researching and creating highly finished original jewelry using precious metals
and gemstones for lead actors and body doubles. Jasmine Watson's designs were
utilised for the manufacture and duplication of the original jewelry and
accessories from The Fellowship of the Ring.
"...and she took a white gem like a star that lay upon her breast
hanging upon a silver chain..."
Jasmine Watson - "The Evenstar was the most complex piece to
design, even though compared to some of the other designs it appears relatively
simple, it is a very pivotal piece of jewellery in the film. Arwen (who wears
it) is referred to as 'the evenstar' of her people, so it needed to have a star
like quality, yet being of elven design and make it needed to have a hand made
organic feel, and be extremely well crafted, complex and almost
magical"

New Zealand hit headlines
when Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films swept the board at this year's
Oscars, but the country is still reaping the benefits weeks later.
If you have ever visited a
major film studio in Hollywood you will know how glitzy the whole experience is
with tours of famous sets, and if you are lucky a glimpse of a celebrity or two.
So you might expect a similar degree of glamour when you trek to the
other side of the world to Middle Earth to see where they filmed one of the
biggest blockbusters of all time, namely Lord of the Rings. But you would be in
for a bit of a culture shock....

| ~ The Lord of the Rings Location: Wellington- Monday 10 January, 2005 |
|
 |
| The capital was used as a base of operations for The Lord of the Rings production. Here Peter Jackson and the cast and crew recorded the studio scenes including Edoras and Helm's Deep interiors featured in The Two Towers and performed all the post production work. The city's iconic landmark, Mount Victoria, also provided the backdrop for some key scenes, including those where the hobbits hide from the Black Rider, and later, when they race to catch the ferry with the Rider in hot pursuit. Wellington's Miramer Peninsula served as the outskirts of Bree, and the Prancing Pony and village of Bree were built around army barracks at Fort Dorset, in Seatoun. |

| ~ Peter Jackson, the director- Monday 10 January, 2005 |
|
 |
| Once a struggling filmmaker, Wellington-based director Peter Jackson is enjoying worldwide critical acclaim as he brings Tolkien's epic Lord of the Rings trilogy to life. Born in Wellington's Pukerua Bay in 1961, Jackson began making his first film shorts at the age of eight. He fell in love with horror movies during his teenage years, cutting his directing teeth on low-budget horror comedies. His first feature, Bad Taste (1987), told the gruesome but comic story of aliens who landed on Earth to harvest humans for an intergalactic fast-food chain. Made on a shoe-string budget, Jackson paid for equipment from his own salary as a photo engraver on the local paper, building his own dolly tracks and cranes, making his own models, and recruiting friends and colleagues to serve as cast and crew. |
